Effects of Staff of Long-Term Care Insurance¡¯s Job Stress, Social Support, Professional Identity, and Self-efficacy of National Health Insurance Corporation on Morale

Abstract
Purpose : This study is designed to identify correlation among the staff of long-term care insurance¡¯s job stress, social support, professional identity, self-efficacy, morale of National Health Insurance Corporation, and then each effects on the morale.

Methods : In order to collect the data, a survey was conducted by using the structured questionnaire based on 161 staffs of long-term care insurance of 50 long-term care operation centers from 1st to 30th of September, 2011. Collected data were analyzed statistically using frequency, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and hierarchical regression analysis using the SPSS/WIN 19.0 program

Results : The morale had a negative correlation with the job stress, while it had a positive correlation with the social support, professional identity, and self-efficacy. In hierarchical multiple regression, the factors significantly affecting morale were working place: small and medium cities(¥â=.16, p=.004), working place: rural area(¥â=.14, p=.017), health status(¥â=-.14, p=.014), social support(¥â=.13, p=.043), professional identity(¥â=.51, p<.001). These variables explained 59% of morale.

Conclusion : It turned out that the morale could be improved by reinforcing the professional identity, managing the health status as well as rotating the working place. As such, it expects both the improvement of long-term care insurance services outcome and its quality through the morale management.
